PESCADERO, Calif. (AP) — A quick-wondering custodian safely and securely confined a curious cougar in an vacant classroom following it entered a Northern California large university Wednesday early morning, authorities said.
The custodian was opening Pescadero Significant for the college day when the juvenile mountain lion was noticed, reported Detective Javier Acosta with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Business. No learners or teachers had been on campus at the time, Acosta claimed.
“The mountain lion casually walked via campus and decided to go into an English classroom,” he mentioned. “The custodian acted speedily and managed to shut the doorway driving it.”
Acosta mentioned the animal, estimated to be about 40 lbs . (18 kilos), appeared “lost and worried.”
The California Office of Fish and Wildlife tranquilized the cat and sent it to the Oakland Zoo for assessment.
