CWT has opened a new service center offering around-the-clock service in both English and Mandarin, aimed at helping Chinese multinational travelers, the travel management company announced.
The center employs travel counselors fluent in both languages who have received training in understanding Chinese culture and traveler preferences, enabling them to help Chinese business travelers with arrangements and managing disruptions, according to CWT. CWT based the service center in Singapore, where it established its Asia-Pacific headquarters in 1996.
A large technology company in China has been using the service in May with “overwhelmingly positive” feedback, and other large Chinese multinational clients plan to go live with the service later this year, according to CWT. Albert Zhong, CWT’s general manager for China, said the TMC has seen a “swift resumption” in travel from Chinese clients with employees based outside of the country.
“In the case of certain companies, these travelers are already traveling as much—or even more—than they were pre-pandemic,” according to Zhong. “Through our new bilingual service hub in Singapore, we can provide our Chinese customers and their employees around the world with a more consistent experience, whenever they need support, and in their preferred language.”
